CRANLEIGH GOLF CLUB PRESENT READY WITH BIG FUNDRAISING CHEQUE

At the Cranleigh Golf and Country Club last Saturday (25th November), the charity received 2 cheques totalling a massive £9912.15. READY was chosen as the designated charity for the year by Ginny North, the Lady Captain. The fundraising was the result of an awful lot of hard work by Ginny, her husband Nick (Seniors Captain), and Heather Kitson (Club Captain), and the generosity of the golf club members.

The presentation awards evening was attended by Sophie Kamlish, recent gold medal winner and record holder for the 100 metres at the London World Para-athletics, and Toby Gold, silver medal winner. They invited questions from the floor and explained the valuable support that READY played in providing equipment that has enabled them to fulfil their athletic ambitions. They are both training hard for the Tokyo Olympics in 2019, and the golf club said they would be keeping a close eye on their progress.
Vinny Codrington (Trustee) thanked all the members of the golf club, but especially Ginny, Nick and Heather, and also fellow attendee Moira Morgan (Trustee), who put forward the case for the charity to be Ginny’s chosen charity.

It was a special occasion and a memorable evening, and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the support that we have received from the members of Cranleigh Golf Club.
