READY Athletes in IWAS World Junior Games

READY sponsored athletes Jamie Carter, Toby Gold, Kare Adenagan and Michael McCabe have all been named in the 23 strong team announced for the IWAS World Junior Games in Stoke Mandeville August 2014.

World and Paralympic finalist Jamie Carter who trains at Weir Archer Academy will compete across three events (T34 100m, 400m and 800m) and will be aiming to continue his rise up rankings ahead of the IPC European Championships later in the month. READY supporters have funded Jamie’s bike which he uses for cross-training to build stamina.

Toby Gold, currently ranked number two in the world in the T33 100m, a new event for the Rio 2016 programme, will lead British hopes in the 200m and 400m. Toby, who also trains at Weir Archer Academy, is an active supporter of READY.  READY supporters have funded Toby’s chairs throughout his racing career.

Kare Adenegan, in the T34 100m, 400m, 800m,  will be keen to follow in the footsteps of her personal inspiration 2012 Paralympian Hannah Cockroft MBE. READY supporters funded Kare’s racing chair. Kare races with University of Warwick Wheelchair Racing Academy.

Micheal McCabe, who trains with Christine Parsloe in Sutton has been selected to compete in the T54 800m and  1500m.
