Techman Rugby Festival : 27th September 2017

On 27th September 2017 the Techman Rugby Festival will take place at Barlborough Hall School, Derbyshire. The event has been organised by 9 year old Sam Haddock with one single aim, to raise as much money for READY as he can.

Sam says on his website that “I believe everybody should be able to access sport. But unfortunately our world is not always inclusive and I want people to understand how hard it can be to do it or continue to do it if you have a disability”. So far Sam has managed to raise an incredible £2007.50 but he wants to do more.

There are seven teams involved in the event so far, and Peterborough Primary School, St Augustine’ are holding a rugby taster day in support of Sam’s event, but more schools are invited to join.

To get involved, all Sam asked is that you raise a minimum of £25 and if you let him know, he will feature you on his website.

It’s incredible to see youngsters like Sam showing such passion to help kids the same age as them, get involved in sport. As an able bodied Rugby player, Sam knows first hands the benefits sport has for him and he wants to make sure that those with a disability get to share in that enjoyment.
