29th ANNUAL READY GOLF DAY

The 29th annual READY golf day took place at Fulwell Golf Club on 9th September 2021, 30 years after the first golf day in 1992 (the last one was cancelled for obvious reasons). Sixteen team took part on a warm sunned day.

The day was a spectacular success, not at least due to the wonderful venue, the hospitality of Fulwell and the friendly and professional staff who all helped create such a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The course was in magnificent condition and the lunch was superb. All the teams involved helped make it a special day that was enjoyed by all of the golfers who generously helped raise valuable funds for the charity.

Our Chairman, Salv Dilena made a special award to Jeff Thomas, who is stepping down as a Trustee and who has organised the golf day for the past twelve years. Jeff’s contribution over the years has been invaluable being that the golf day is our principle fundraising day. Jeff organised the entire day and drummed up the support by getting many teams to take part. They will be difficult shoes to fill Jeff!

The winners on the day were Windlesham Wonders captained by David Gray

Closest to the pin was won by David Curry and Emma Pope. The Longest drive went to David Hill

Special mention must go to Chris Wilson form Wimbledon Commoners who has been such a stalwart supporter.

Overall a hugely successful event and we hope to celebrate our 30th anniversary in style on 31 March 2022. Make a date in your diaries!
